As the chief player, you take on the role of the Master Chief and you head the United Nations Space Command against the Covenant, which is the collective agency of various alien races. |
The backdrop of the game is set in the Convent’s discovery of a massive and ancient object in the desert sands of Africa. There is a civil war breaking within the Covenant itself, while the Master Chief's AI companion Cortana is trapped in the Gravemind.
