The Xbox 360 is one of the most popular gaming consoles across the world. Designed by Microsoft, it offers a great playing experience with quality graphics and great processing power. |
However, many gamers want to know whether they can use their Xbox 360 while they are traveling or waiting for a flight at the airport. There are various options available and one such option is discussed below.
Apple Airport Extreme is a networking product from Apple. It can be used to connect airport-enabled devices to the internet. However, there are problems in making it work with the Xbox. Those who like to use this product for internet connectivity will find that it cannot be used to play online games with the Xbox 360 because of compatibility problems. This is because the Xbox does not agree with WPA/WPA2 security or routers with N-support that are present in the Apple Airport Extreme.
However, there is a way around this problem. You need to check the setting for the 802.11 n networks. In order to do this, you need to click the radio setting button to open a drop down menu from where you should select "b/g compatible" and not "n". Next you need to change the encryption setting by specifying the setting as WPA Personal. You should then reserve an IP using the Xbox 360's MAC address under the DHCP settings in the Apple Extreme. Finally set the Xbox 360's IP address as the "Default Host" in the NAT options. Now restart your system and use your Apple Extreme to connect your Xbox to the internet, and play the games you want.
